Protection specialist and former Associate Director of the ABI, Nick Kirwan has joined the executive team of the Income Protection Task Force.
Kirwan will work with the existing IPTF team and will provide particular advice based on his knowledge of the political process and regulation.
Clive Waller, co-Chairman of IPTF said, "We are delighted that Nick has joined the executive team; his experience and contacts across the protection landscape will be of huge value to the IPTF".
IPTF are working with a number of consumer groups on a consumer charter for Income Protection, have a working party looking at means-testing and, later in the year, is going to produce a strategic paper looking at the future of Income Protection in the UK.
Peter Le Beau, the other co-Chairman commented, "I have known Nick for many years and aside from his tremendous knowledge, he is one of the most passionate people I know about protection. Nick's enthusiasm and ability are just what we need as we seek to promote the value of Income Protection".
Nick Kirwan said, "Middle income Britain is woefully under-insured and the income protection task force is all about addressing that. Our shared vision is for individuals and families to be much more financially resilient against the impact of long term illness".
