Aviva extends life cover for new parents

Aviva has extended its free life cover for new parents offer.

The initiative provides £10,000 of life cover for each parent, per child up to the baby's first birthday and aims to offer more financial protection opportunity to parents.

It was launched in 2009 and initially parents had to register before the child was six months old.

Louise Colley, head of protection sales and marketing for Aviva, said: "Life insurance should be on every new or expectant parent's check list - along with the cot and the nappies. However, we also appreciate how busy new parents are and that sometimes it can take a bit longer to get things ticked off their ‘to do' lists.

"While we can't stop the sleepless nights, hopefully we can give new parents some peace of mind knowing that cover is in place."
