Simplyhealth is to base its entire private medical insurance business in Bristol, to close its Letchworth office and will delay the launch of its new product, Simply Employee Health.
Following a consultation with employees Jamie Wilson, sales and marketing director at the healthcare provider said: "We have made this decision because we believe that it is the best way to create a sustainable private medical insurance business.
"We've listened to feedback from intermediaries as part of our desire to align our operations in the best possible way to meet their needs and maintain high service levels.
"We envisage that it will take at least 12 months to fully align our operations.
"We understand that this is a busy time for intermediaries and we want to give everyone sufficient time to get to know our new private medical insurance product that will replace Santé by Simplyhealth and Preferential.
"That's why we've decided to delay the launch of our new product called Simply Employee Health. We will start to accept quote requests in May 2013."
The company will combine its intermediary sales and account management teams by the end of December 2012.
