Health Shield will launch a round-the-clock GP helpline and paperless system next year as part of its product development drive.
The 24-hour service will be offered across its voluntary and company-sponsored corporate, tailored and flexible benefits schemes from January 2013.
A new paperless system designed to improve the friendly's customer service levels is currently being phased in.
The streamlined service will give members the option to receive information and scheme updates by email.
Philip Wood, executive director of sales and marketing at Health Shield, said: "We have strengthened existing and soon-to-be-launched schemes by offering additional services that meet the needs of all stakeholders - whether they are intermediaries, companies, or individual members.
"In a rapidly changing marketplace, we felt it was extremely important that our systems and processes were fit-for-purpose to enable us to continue delivering a first-rate service that forms the cornerstone of our business."
The organisation already offers a direct credit system, enabling claims to be paid directly into a member's chosen bank account, and direct credit notification by email.
Wood said: "Together with a strong product portfolio, we are confident that we will continue to buck the market trend by growing our market share by income and working towards our ambitious business strategy."
