Bowel cancer campaign update

clock

The Department of Health has announced an update on the bowel cancer campaign to promote early diagnosis.

The Be Clear on Cancer programme update includes the launch of a reminder campaign on bowel cancer and has been published today for the NHS and cancer networks.

The campaign will consist of TV, radio, press advertisements and more than 100 events across England.

It will run until the end of September and will have a lower weight of TV advertising than the previous national campaign.

The timescales promoted are earlier than NICE guidelines for urgent GP referrals of suspected bowel cancer and three areas in England will pilot campaign extensions until March 2013.
