International health insurer, Now Health International, has opened an office in Shanghai, following the signing of a partnership agreement with Minan Insurance.
The company has created a range of plans in China for both individuals and companies and is offering the proposition to the expatriate community and to Chinese high net worth local nationals.
The service centre in Shanghai will provide local servicing including policy administration, customer support and claims servicing to intermediaries as well as group, employee and individual policyholders.
The China product, is based on Now Health's current range of WorldCare plans with four different levels of cover: Essential, Advance, Excel and Apex.
The plan, which is available in both Simplified Chinese and English, has also been boosted with additional options applicable to the local market.

For those who want the option of being treated in one of the handful of high-cost hospitals in the region, a 20% co-insurance option is available to bring down the premium.
Now Health's Managing Director in China, PY So said: "We've put an immense amount of work getting our proposition right since signing the agreement with Minan. We are delighted that we are able to launch into this exciting market in what is the next phase of our expansion ambitions."
