Unum meets with Carol Sergeant to discuss simple IP

clock

Unum was in talks yesterday with Carol Sergeant to bang the drum for more prominence on the workplace in the distribution of her steering group's simple income replacement concept.

COVER understands the provider and the group met late afternoon to kick start Unum's contribution to the Review of Simple Financial Products report consultation.

According to industry sources, the conversation followed lengthy debate about the importance of the workplace.

John Letizia, head of public affairs at Unum, said: "It would not be appropriate for me to detail conversations or specific meetings we have had with the steering group. But we have brought up the idea of the workplace with them in our reply to the report.

"Unum will also be replying formally to the report and we hope to see more use of the workplace in the final report next year. It is a key area."
