The new managing director of Bright Grey and Scottish Provident has admitted the provider has "taken its eyes off the ball" with underwriting speed to offer.
In a two-minute video promise to advisers Roger Edwards said it was not as fast as it should be and said the area would be addressed as soon as possible.
He added that advisers could expect more digital content from the provider in the form of podcasts, videos and webinars.
"My commitment as managing director is to continue to give you great marketing support," Edwards said.
"Both brands have a reputation for giving IFAs sales ideas, advice ideas and campaigning ideas that can really help you grow your protection business. And we will continue to give you that support going forward."
Edwards was promoted in early July to managing director of the protection businesses for both Bright Grey and Scottish Provident.
Previously he was proposition director at Bright Grey and has now replaced Ross Ainslie who will leave in August to pursue a master's degree.
