Amii will tackle P11D reform with Biba

The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (Amii) will be lobbying to government for P11D reform with the support of Biba later this year.

Wayne Pontin, chairman of Amii, said there was "great merit" in looking at why corporates should have the tax double whammy of P11D and national insurance for offering PMI as an employee benefit.

He said: "This is one area we will be looking at in quarter four of this year. There is a lot of joined thinking on this with us, Biba and GRiD which will make the voice stronger."

The focal point for the association will sit alongside its work on PMI product innovation and raising industry standards with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

Its priority currently is expansion of its membership to include providers and build a less "precarious" financial structure, Pontin said.
