Patient groups and consumers have been invited to report experience of the government and ABI Concordat on Genetics and Insurance agreement.
The evidence submitted could include records of any complaints made to insurance companies regarding breaches of the agreement.
It will be used to inform the next review of the Concordat scheduled for 2014.
The Concordat and Moratorium on Genetics and Insurance is an agreement between the government and the Association of British Insurers.
It aims to provide a policy framework for the use of predictive genetic test information by insurers. It includes a voluntary moratorium on insurers' use of predictive genetic test results.
The Concordat was reviewed in 2011. It enables people who have taken genetic tests for conditions such as Alzheimer's and cancer, to take out insurance without disclosing the results.
Public health minister Anne Milton announced on 26 June this year that the agreement would be extended to 2017.
