Mondial Assistance UK has announced that it will rebrand to Allianz Global Assistance in October this year as it embarks on a new foray into the health sector.
As part of this strategy, the company has appointed Phil Carr, who has joined from parent company Allianz Insurance, to the position of head of Health Services.
He will be tasked with driving the insurer’s new healthcare range with the first product being a homecare offering called Insured Personal Care at Hom
offering care and assistance in the patient's own home following an accident or sudden illness,
The new healthcare range will supplement the insurer’s existing travel and motor lines.
Mr Carr commented: “It is extremely exciting to be involved in such a pioneering project with a company as well established and respected as Mondial Assistance.
“I look forward to building a successful range of healthcare services which not only provide profitable growth to the business, but increase the breadth of experience and strength of reputation already held by the company.
“The launch of the Personal Care at Home product is a vital part of our strategy for building Mondial’s foundations as a successful healthcare brand, and we already have in the pipeline a variety of additional services for this market which we plan to launch in the mid to long term.”
