An independent financial adviser in Wales has been chosen to carry the Olympic Torch through his village as it tours the United Kingdom ahead of the 2012 Games.
Wyndham Morgan, principal of Wyndham Morgan Finance, was selected by Lloyds TSB for inspiring others through sport in his role as a rugby coach.
For the past 25 years, Morgan has coached the Ferryside RFC juniors, with Welsh internationals Stephen Jones and Mefin Davies among his former players.
Morgan said: "I'm over the moon and never expected this sort of thing. I did the coaching because I liked rugby and I liked working with the children."
He was originally nominated for the honour by Stephen Evans, another former player, who praised him for his contribution and said it would finally give Morgan some local and national recognition for his efforts.
Morgan, who is currently battling cancer, had only found out about his nomination when one of his sons received an email about it.
"It was a surprise to say the least but I am extremely grateful about it all," he said.
His big moment will come on 27 May at 10.30am and, after he has done his duties, former students of his will participate in a rugby match in Ferryside to celebrate his achievements.
Morgan said: "I live in a small village and the people here are quite excited about it all."
