Skandia appoints new head of protection

Skandia UK has appointed Ian Jefferies as head of protection.

Jefferies brief is to focus on developing the company's protection proposition and strengthen Skandia's position in the market.

The Skandia protection proposition currently operates in the high net worth space, specialising in guaranteed whole of life cover and rolling term.

Jefferies was previously head of sales and marketing at Ageas Protect and prior to that he led the protection and investment marketing teams at Friends Provident.

Steve Powell, sales director corporate partners at Skandia UK, said: "Ian will work closely with UK sales and the corporate partners team. With his wealth of experience he will be a real asset to the team, and we are looking forward to driving our protection business forwards."
