Bupa has expanded its individual income protection (IP) offering.

The provider has added a benefit guarantee, exclusion discounts and the Best Doctors service to its product.

  • Benefit guarantee - By verifying a customer's salary at application, the provider will guarantee that even if their situation changes they will receive the agreed amount if they make a claim;
  • Exclusion discounts - If a customer's medical history means that conditions such as back related or mental illness cannot be covered at underwriting, the premium rate will be reduced;
  • Best Doctors - All income protection policies will now have access to the Best Doctors second opinion service.

Bupa also expects to announce further additions to its IP product.
