Congratulations to COVER reporter Peter Madigan, who won the financing healthcare category at this year's Medical Journalism Awards. Peter, who joined COVER a year ago, scooped the trade feature award for his article 'A Fairer Sex?', which looked at how, after a long battle, the Gender Recognition Act should finally see the transsexual community enjoy the same rights as the rest of society.
In presenting Peter with the award, the judges said: 'This was a well picked story, Peter took a new angle to an interesting subject. He chose a real IFA issue and wrote the piece extremely well.'
