Welcome to the new look COVER. As you may have noticed, there have been a few changes to the magazine. New features including an interview page, risk clinic and a dedicated news page outlining the latest medical developments have been added. While the magazine has a brand new look, in addition to the new sections you will still find all the regulars such as up-to-date market news and comment, special reports, wide-ranging features, monthly product surveys and regular roundtable debates.
The London COVER Forum is also still going strong and, in its fifth year, was yet again a great success. Even a tube strike failed to dampen the proceedings, with almost 200 advisers joining us on the day. Speakers rewarded delegates with insightful comment on the market and perhaps even more important, practical advice on how to increase sales.
Speaking at the Forum, Richard Walsh, of the Association of British Insurers, highlighted two issues the market will undoubtedly focus on over the next 12 months. First, the possibility of insurers working with local authorities to widen consumer education about long term care insurance and bring the cost of products down. Second, the impact of genetic testing and the options currently being considered by insurers to combat premium hikes. Definitely issues to watch for the future.
Now in its sixth year, COVER has always adapted to the changing needs of advisers and as the market develops, we will endeavour to keep meeting them. However, we want to make sure we're getting it right, so any feedback about the changes we have made are welcome. Equally, if there is anything we are not including that you would like to see in the magazine, please submit your comments to [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you.
