Pacific Life Re has appointed a new head of protection marketing for the UK and Ireland.

The reinsurer has announced that James Tait will replace Alex King in the role.

Tait was previously head of pricing and reinsurance at Ageas Protect and has extensive experience in the sector having also worked in senior roles at Munich Re and Legal & General.

King is moving to a new role in Pacific Life Re's Singapore office as head of marketing for its Asia division.

David Heeney, chief marketing officer at Pacific Life Re, said: "Alex has done a great job for us and will be missed by his many friends in the UK and Irish markets.

"The move to Asia is an exciting opportunity for him and I'm sure he will do an equally great job there.

"We have an excellent replacement in James who brings a wealth of protection knowledge and experience from both insurance and reinsurance perspectives," he added.
