Friends Life has signed a new long-term agreement with Best Doctors to include its service in its individual protection policies sold through recognised IFAs.

The provider initially announced that Best Doctors would be available on its new Protect+ protection range and has now confirmed this will be for at least three years and hopefully longer.

Steve Casey, head of marketing and proposition development at Friends Life, told COVER: "It's for a minimum of three years and we see working with them as a key strategic asset for us.

"We've worked with them for ten years starting in 2001 and hope to be equally as long if not longer," he added.

The expert medical information service is an option on critical illness and income protection products and is available to all individual protection customers and their immediate family during the lifetime of the policy.

It is also available on all term assurance products.

Dominic Howard, director for Europe at Best Doctors, added that he was excited about the partnership.
