Best Doctors unveils new advice service

clock

Best Doctors, the medical expertise sourcing service, is to shortly begin trials on a new service for protection insurers' clients.

Currently Best Doctors acts as a sourcing system for those needing specialised medical practitioners, generally for second opinions, and available alongside protection policies from providers such as Aegon, Bupa and Canada life.

Its new implementation, to be called Ask Best Doctors, will act as a non emergency medical question answering service, with client's questions answered by practicing doctors.

Dominic Howard, UK and Ireland director for Best Doctors, said: "It should be clear that this is a non emergency service and may have a 72 hour lead time. However it will be a source of reliable medical advice when so many other sources, such as the internet can be untrustworthy."

The trial is likely to start in a few weeks, probably amongst the staff of one of Best Doctor's client insurers with any expected roll out to the market in the early autumn.

Globally Best Doctors has 250 companies signed as partners equating to 10 million clients.
