Health Shield has raised premiums for one of its cash plans while adding a lower price level for another scheme.
The cash plan provider also announced it has maintained rates for its company paid Cover for You Essentials and Essentials Plus schemes.
Premiums for its Cover for You and Your Partner plan have been increased due to higher use and claims experience.
But the friendly society added that it will cover the excess payment not covered by private medical insurance through its specialist consultation fees benefit, subject to terms and conditions.
Additionally, a new Access Level has been introduced to its voluntary employee-paid Corporate scheme, targeting those with a smaller budget.
Philip Wood, executive director of sales and marketing at Health Shield, explained the move was necessary due to the higher value and increasing number of claims.
"Increases have been made on a product by product basis to reflect both claims experience and the benefits offered," he said.
"The introduction of a new entry level within the voluntary Corporate scheme will hopefully generate an increase in the number of people wishing to take advantage of the healthcare benefits.
"In the current economic climate, we felt it was extremely important to continue to provide membership plans that are simple, flexible and affordable to all," he added.
