More than half of intermediaries think it would be possible to breathe life back into the long term care (LTC) insurance market.

According to COVER's latest web poll, 61.1% of respondents still harbour hopes that the LTC market will become resurrected. However, 38.9% disagreed.

At the COVER Protection Forum in October, Dr Marius Barnard, the inventor of critical illness insurance, urged the industry to start to activate a drive for LTC. If the sector did not do so, he warned that the whole protection industry would fail.

An industry expert has called for the industry to launch a communication's group. Is this a good idea or is it just another working group on top of the ones that already exist? To cast your vote in this month's poll, please go to www.covermagazine.co.uk.
