The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) has announced changes to its executive committee.
In an election at AMII's annual general meeting, Lindsey Joseph from LEBC Corporate Healthcare Solutions has been appointed secretary/membership secretary, while Debbie Kleiner Gaines of Best Health UK continues as treasurer.
In addition, Graeme Godfrey of Best Go Private and Brian Walters of Regency Health also join as executive committee members.
Remaining Executive Committee members are:
Andrew Tripp, Chairman - Perfect Health Insurance
Hazel Gregory - Medical Insurance Services
Isobel Skeates - Direct Healthline
John Miller - BlueFin Healthcare
Mike Wragg, Insurer Representative - Simplyhealth
Looking at the next 12 months, Andrew Tripp, AMII's chairman said, "The challenges AMII and its members have to contend with includes a contracting market with less consumer choice, the most difficult economic environment since the recession of the early 1990s, and increased and fierce competition in the Intermediary community.
"The Association will continue to lobby insurance providers over claims transparency and the clarity of pricing in SME schemes, and seek better communications between insurers re underwriting terms when schemes transfer.
"Notwithstanding the Prime Minister's comment in Parliament yesterday, it will also continue to argue the case for tax concessions for the PMI market and the removal of class 1a National Insurance charges on the employers providing PMI when this is not levied to other forms of group protection insurance."
