Cirencester friendly has added big T underwriting to its IFA application process.
Medicals Direct will operate the new service which will work alongside the current little T and traditional application methods.
The holloway provider said this would give IFAs and their clients more choice when it comes to how they apply for their income protection (IP) contract.
It also hopes that the move will further cut application processing times following the previous reduction.
Paul Hudson, chief executive of Cirencester friendly, explained the decision to introduce big T which captures all medical details during a telephone interview rather than in writing on the application form.
"It makes the process much faster for IFAs because we are only capturing basic contact information and cover details on the paper application.
"Missed or incomplete medical information is one of the biggest hold-ups when it comes to ensuring policies go through to completion but big T enables us to collect this information at the earliest possible stage and provides the opportunity to gather more detail where necessary for specific conditions.
"We have built on our existing partnership with Medicals Direct to deliver the interview service and hope the addition will provide more choice and flexibility to IFAs and also help reduce their paperwork," he added.
