Wiltshire Friendly enters big T arena

Wiltshire Friendly Society has contracted Medicals Direct to provide a big T tele interviewing service for its income protection business.

The provider, which was founded in 1887 and has around 6,000 individual and group members, explained it was hoping to make its medical evidence gathering faster and more accurate.

It added that systems integration had already taken place without the need for an initial pilot scheme.

John Sanders, chief executive of Wiltshire Friendly Society, said: "As we move into new markets with our income protection plans, we know that we will have to provide an excellent service for both adviser and applicant.

"Medicals Direct have demonstrated their appetite for working with niche providers like us and we are confident that by outsourcing big T to them we will save on our initial costs."
