Groupama Healthcare has said it will continue to release claims data for small group scheme policies after its merger with Simplyhealth.
Alistair Sclare, healthcare director at Groupama, said: "Part of our agreement with Simplyhealth was an agreement that we would continue to release claims experience.
"There will come a time when Groupama policies rebrand to Simplyhealth and those policies will continue to release the data under that brand.
"However this does not mean that Simplyhealth will begin to release claims experience data across its book.
Asked whether he thought Simplyhealth would consider this, he added: "Simplyhealth is the best placed company to make up its own mind. It is in a lucky position, to have a look at our model and be able to see in detail what we do."
Commenting, Howard Hughes, head of employer marketing at Simplyhealth, said: "This is not new to Simplyhealth, we have a strong track record in mergers and always look beyond the books at the value of an organisation we buy - this is its skills and competencies.
"It is too early to look at products and processes, but intermediaries are key to the proposition of both firms and we will be involving them in the integration process.
"We intend to be much more than a purveyor of cash plans, we want to be seen as finding healthcare solutions for all people."
