Axa PPP International adds marine cover to International Health Plan

clock • 1 min read

Axa PPP International has added a marine option for group and individual subscribers to its Standard, Prestige and Comprehensive International Healthcare Plans for people living abroad.

The new benefit is aimed at owners of private sailing craft and employers of crew working on yachts, cargo vessels or cruise ships.

It provides up to £25,000 for emergency evacuation costs - by air or by sea - should members fall ill or suffer injury whilst on board and require transport to land for emergency in-patient medical treatment.

Once ashore, International Health Plan covers their in-patient treatment as well as follow up care if required (subject to the terms of their policy).

If the in-patient treatment isn't available locally, then they'll have the added reassurance of knowing that they're covered for transport costs and for care at the nearest appropriate medical facility.

And, as part of their Axa PPP International membership, policyholders also have access to the medical insurer's 24/7 medical information helpline and assistance from interpreters to help overcome language barriers when discussing medical matters as well as the support of a personal medical case management service.
