The Insurance Conduct of Business (ICOB) sourcebook, which was supposed to be published on 6 December, has been delayed until further notice.
At a Financial Services Authority (FSA) board meeting last week, the regulator decided that further discussions were needed before the sourcebook was published.
While refusing to be drawn on what is causing the delay, FSA spokesperson Robin Gordon-Walker, said: “We genuinely don’t know when the sourcebook will be published. It could be before Christmas but it could also go into next year.”
He admitted that a delay is likely to affect the implementation date of the ICOB review.
