Bupa International launches new cover

Bupa International has unveiled Worldwide Health Options, a flexible international health plan that can be tailor-made to suit individual customers' needs.

Developed to combine the best elements of Bupa International's individual products into one plan, it is modular and features four ‘bolt on' options covering: specialist treatment including situations where a hospital stay is not required prescribed medicines and medical equipment: health screening, vaccinations, dental and optical treatment and worldwide evacuation for people who are unable to get the treatment they need in a local hospital.

USA cover is a further option, as well as a range of deductibles (similar to excesses) to help customers manage the cost of their cover. Plans can be assembled to suit customers' individual circumstances and the country where they spend most of their time. Customers can be treated in any of Bupa's 5,500 participating hospitals and clinics worldwide.

David Grint, commercial director for Bupa International, said: "Research shows that our customers and intermediaries wanted to be able to tailor cover to match their healthcare needs. The modular nature of the new plan enables us to offer people more choice and be more responsive to our customers' requirements.

As we move into new territories we can adapt the modules, rather than having to establish a new product that accounts for local compliance and regulation issues. Worldwide Health Options is a great leap forward and raises the bar for Bupa and the industry in general."
