Bristol-based insurer April UK reported strong PMI growth in January and February of this year. Here, Sarah Buck, its chief executive, reveals the reasons for this growth
FM: Moving on to the future for April UK. Where do you plan to go next? Are there any further expansion plans or product lines that you are looking into?
SB: As I said, the individual PMI market, has been our primary focus so far, but of course this is only a small part of the health insurance market. We have already made in-roads into the SME market, and this remains one of our key development areas this year.
But for me, it's one step at a time to achieve controlled and sustainable growth. And it's important that we must never neglect the areas where we have received success. We are building the company from the bottom, and each successful area is one of our foundations which we must never let crumble.
In future, we have ambitions to gain success across a range of health insurance and protection plans. We have a few new plans in the pipeline to be launched later this year, and further improvements planned to our PMI proposition.
Eventually, I would like to see us in the employee benefits arena. But we have lots ofwork and foundations to build before we reach that stage.
