Zurich has launched a safety website for group life and income protection customers and their employees in partnership with crisis management firm red24.
The service is free and offers customers access to online worldwide security and health information.
The site includes intelligence on 230 worldwide destinations with country specific reports addressing security hot spots and the threat of terrorism, travel logistics and cultural considerations.
There is a daily news service and information on travel health such as pre-travel vaccination recommendations and the availability of medical care in each country.
Zurich said as well as emergency 24/7 contacts, advice is also provided on how to mitigate threats to customers, family members and property.
Nick Homer, group protection manager for Zurich said: "We live in a global economy and many of our customers have employees who regularly travel overseas and this trend is continuing. It is critical that employers effectively manage this
developing area of employee risk.
"We are committed to supporting our corporate customers in managing their broader employee risks and we believe the addition of the travel safety website will assist them with their employee risk management strategy."
