Universal Provident has announced changes to its TravellersCare policy including an increase in maximum trip duration from 31 to 60 days.

Other changes announced include an increase in maximum emergency cover from £5m to £10m and quadrupling the amount of emergency dental cover to £1,000.

Travellerscare is a multi-trip policy for individuals and businesses and is sold btoh with the company's PMI products and as a standalone offering.

There are also changes to the travel delay cover which is increased to £30 per hour from £10 per hour and the maximum payment for cancellation, curtailment and abandonment rises to £5,000.

Existing policyholders will move onto the new basis at renewal.

Dale Tranter, assistant group underwriting manager at Universal Provident said: "We are pleased to be able to improve our product without increasing the price."

Tranter added: "We obviously hope that these improvements will improve our overall product proposition, particularly where travel is being sold alongside PMI."
