Rizz - appeal, charm, attractiveness. This is Oxford dictionary's word of the year for 2023 and is thought by the BBC to be a shortening of the word ‘charisma'. I neither know of nor possess said ‘rizz' but it seemed to fit perfectly when I started thinking about what I envision for our industry in 2024. Insurance has long been the poor relation in a financial planning portfolio, and in the majority of cases where an adviser is not an insurance specialist, it tends to go only as far as life cover.
