On International Women's Day 2022, COVER's Hemma Visavadia shares her personal experience on what it’s like for a woman to enter the protection industry, as well as what more the sector can do to ensure that gender roles remain fair, considerate and equal.

I have been a part of the protection industry for nearly two months now and it's safe to say I've learnt a few things. Beyond lexical phrases and terminology, I can see now that protection is much more than just claims being paid out. Much like every industry there are ups and downs. Despite more women coming up the ranks, my first impression of this industry is that it's undoubtedly very male dominated.
