Half of workers would stay with employer if VR support was offered

29% were satisfied with physical modifications

Nearly half (49%) of workers would be likely to stay with an employer longer-term if they were offered vocational rehabilitation (VR) support to help them to stay in work or to return to work after a long-term health condition such as cancer, Working To Wellbeing found.

This figure increased to 58% of adults under 35 and 63% of those aged 35-54, according to Working To Wellbeing's research, Window to the Workplace, which was conducted among 529 UK line managers and 108 people who have or have had cancer in the workplace. As for line managers, 80% agreed that rehabilitation to build physical, social and work skills is important after a long-term illness such as cancer.
