Over one third (36%) of women would be unable to afford everyday expenses if the UK entered a recession, compared to one quarter of men (26%), according to new research by Quilter.
A survey of 2,001 Britons conducted by YouGov found the cost of living has disproportionately impacted women's finances and their ability to withstand the potential impacts of a recession. The cost of living crisis appears to be putting greater pressure on women's finances than the Covid-19 pandemic, which was found to have disproportionately impacted women both economically and socially.
