On the fifth and final day of Income Protection Awareness Week 2023, protection advisers extolled the benefits of carrying out regular reviews with customers as a way to add value to their journey through protection.

Considering how reviews can be carried out successfully with customers, Scott Taylor-Barr of Barnsdale Financial Management detailed that insurer annual statements act as a trigger point for the advisory to send out client review letters automatically. These reviews provide clients with an opportunity to discuss the annual statement with the adviser, as well as review their current cover.
