Vitality pays out £96M in individual claims during 2022

Vitality has announced total pays outs of £96.3 million across life, serious illness cover and income protection claims throughout 2022.

The pay out total for last year represents a 16% year-on-year increase, while total percentage of claims also rose between 2021 and 2022, from 95.9% to 96.9%. Life cover represented the main bulk of claims paid out on last year, totalling £60m with 99.7% of claims paid, unchanged from 99.8% of life claims paid out in 2021. Vitality detailed that 0.3% of claims were denied last year due to suicide within the 12-month period.
