Business operating profit for life increases 115%

Zurich UK's overall earnings on a like-for-like basis grew 143% to £260m during 2018 - from £107m in 2017 - while combined ratio (CR) improved to 94.9% from 102.3%. For life, business operating profit (BOP) reached £123m for 2017 - up 115% - compared to 2017's £57m figure, while annualised premium equivalent (APE) grew 10% - £455m compared to 2017's figure of £415m in 2017 - and new business value (NBV) of £55m showed a 17% increase (£47m in 2017).
