Quarter of employees value extra holiday over pay-rise

Half of Generation X and Baby Boomers see health insurance and death in service as major concern compared to a fifth of Generation Z and Millennials

Additional holidays and sabbaticals and flexible working hours are considered the biggest priority when it comes to employee benefits, with 26% of UK employees preferring this over a pay-rise, a study by smallbusinessprices.co.uk has found. According to the survey if 2000 UK employees, 18% of men consider themselves very happy with their benefits compared to 14% of women questioned. It also found that 29% of Generation Z (18-24 year olds) employees would be tempted to apply for job if they received a £4000 housing contribution as a company benefit, compared to 22% of Millennials.
