Only 25% of organisations are tackling unhealthy workplace practices

Workplace presenteeism has risen from 26% in 2010 to 86% in 2018, while ‘leaveism' - people working while on annual leave - has also become a problem for 69% of organisations over the past 12 months, the latest Health and Wellbeing at Work report from CIPD and Simplyhealth has found. Increased presenteeism can be attributed to a rise in reported mental health conditions and stress-related absence are among the most common reasons for long-term sickness, the survey of 1,021 respondents in November 2017 also found.
