Aviva advances life cover payments for funeral costs to £11k

Aviva is advancing life cover payments to help families meet funeral costs by increasing the amount it can pay in advance to £11,000.

  The advance payment can be used towards the cost of the funeral as well as the probate application fee. This could help to speed up the Grant of Probate application, allowing the full claims amount to be paid quicker. This pledge exceeds the Protection Distributor Group's (PDG) call on insurers to commit to releasing £5,000 in advance of receiving probate to allow for funeral fees to be paid.
