MPs launch plan to support 1m disabled people into work

An investigation by MPs and peers is offering the government a plan to support a million disabled people into work.

MPs have warned that the government has failed in its commitment to halve the disability employment gap - to hit this target it would require moving 1,074,000 (a third more) disabled people into employment and raising their employment rate from 48% to 64%.  The All Party Parliamentary Group on Disability launched the report: Ahead of the Arc- a Contribution to Halving the Disability Employment Gap, yesterday in Westminster.   The report advocated greater support to create work through self-employment, support to obtain a government business start-up loan or research and development gr...
