BMI Healthcare to offer oncology e-prescribing

clock

BMI Healthcare is to offer e-prescribing for its oncology patients, with rollout over the next 12 months, paving the way for it to be rolled to other specialities.

The move will see a standardised prescribing model for chemotherapy across BMI hospitals, with all 30 sites to be using it by summer 2016, with pilot schemes this year.

The system will be Knowledge Medical System's iQemo browser based prescribing system.

Jill Watts, CEO of BMI Healthcare, said: "Consultants, insurers and commissioners recognise the advantages of e-prescribing, particularly around patient safety.

"The paperless, web-based solution offered by iQemo is an important development for BMI Healthcare which underlines our continued investment in the business for the benefit of our patients and partners, and underpins the continued growth of our oncology services."
