Hypertension, or high blood pressure as it's more commonly known, is one of the most frequent disclosures seen in underwriting. It's often seen as a relatively trivial condition but its consequences can be far reaching and left untreated it increases the risk of a heart attack or stroke. Hypertension is a long-term medical condition where the blood pressure within a person's arteries is persistently high, where left untreated or undiagnosed, people with hypertension are at greater risk of complications, including complications related to Covid-19.
