In Protection's trust problem we looked at how failures in the trusts solution are damaging consumer trust in protection. This time, we will put forward some proposals for closing the trust gap. Long-standing and widely accepted practices can give a false sense of security. They can give a false veneer of respectability to processes which aren't fit for purpose. The fact that everybody does it and we've always done it this way can convince us there's no better way and it's okay to carry on as we are.
